- Paul clearly stated that telnetting is not an option since he has to have an
- account at bix and a local IP for that. I for one agree with him on that part.
-
- You probably do a good job on bix, help out many people with various problems
- in this and other c.s.a groups but I have to agree with Paul that your
- 'use bix or die' messages start to be irritating. Lots of european developers
- have stated that they don't want support on BIX for the simple reasons that
- bix is not available at local phone charges. If support was to go to an online
- service compuserv would probably be just as good, they have local POP's in many
- areas and are expanding rapidly.
-
- I think the Internet has everything needed for developer support not to forget
- that once setup this system can not only handle developer support but also
- support to the public, and maybe support from developers to other developers
- and the public.
-
- If this means we have to wait some more so be it. I don't mind waiting a
- bit longer if that means a support program run by AT on their machines with
- their rules instead of an online service with THEIR regulations. The BIX
- 'copyright on message base' problem is still fresh in my memory. You told me
- in private mail that this was not a problem but everytime the idea to link the
- BIX & ADSP message bases back in the old days the answer was that BIX would
- not allow this because they had a collection copyright on the messages.
